Thats gotta hurt! Huge rock slams into Dirtbike rider!

This bike rider got far more than he bargained for over the weekend at the trail ride that he was involved with.  He was attempting the hillclimb as part of The annual Killarney and Border Districts Trail Ride in Southern Queensland.  As he was just getting going a massive rock came came flying from higher up the mountain after being dislodged by another bike and striking the rider in the chest.

The first video, taken by a bystander, shows the rider being struck by the rock as he begins his ascent up the hillclimb.

Video: Glen Gittins

The second video is from the rider’s helmet and clearly shows the rock come out of nowhere before striking him and throwing him from his bike.

Video: Hayden Poptie

We understand that the rider is ok with minor injuries, but Damn….

He must have Huge balls to attempt this!

This is insane.

Filmed a few weeks back by Action Sports at the World Extreme Rock Crawling Championship Series in Congress, Arizona. We’ve seen plenty of rock crawling at numerous events we attend in Australia, but this takes the cake in madman status! Props to the driver for his exceptional car control and knowing to smash the loud pedal to get it back shiny side up!

Watch the video below. Would you do it?

It’s no secret that Bugatti designs and builds some of the most powerful, exotic, distinctive, and technologically advanced super cars on Earth. And it’s also no secret that in the past, Bugatti has developed and branded a wide variety of products ranging from model cars and complete furniture collections, to high-end watches and motorcycles.

But According to Etienne Salome, the Design Director and Head of Interior Design at Bugatti, “I strongly believe the Bugatti design philosophy is so unique and original that it can be applied to a great number of products. However, a yacht is something special.”

Bugatti have partnered with the expert yacht designers and builders at Palmer Johnson to develop this extremely innovative and powerful yacht. Palmer Johnson has a well earned reputation for innovative ideas and questioning the status quo. And according to company CEO Timur Mohamed, since the company had already designed and developed a new series of fast day yachts, collaborating with Bugatti was logical. “We are always looking to design next generation yachts,” said Mohamed recently, “… and we were all excited to have the opportunity to design such a unique yacht for Bugatti.”

In fact, according to Mohamed, Berkeley March, Palmer Johnson’s Head of Design and his team all studied car design, so they were perfectly suited to work with Salome’s team to develop a truly unique yacht that combines the design language and philosophy of Bugatti and Palmer Johnson.

And part of the yacht’s appeal is no doubt due to the fact that its profile is so unmistakably Bugatti with its instantly recognizable C-shaped profile that comes directly from the Chiron,” Salome tells me. “In fact, this yacht successfully carries the DNA of more than a century of history of our brand with its specific architecture: center-line accentuation, Bugatti Signature Line as well as the duotone, symmetry and multiple other elements that one discovers in Bugatti sports cars as well.”

In fact, Salome continues, “This yacht was not designed to please a corporate brief. It was created for people in search of a very unique—a Bugatti—experience. Personally, I have always dreamed of designing this kind of yacht; a yacht for an audience that appreciate quality and luxury beyond a label or contemporary fashion.” Needless to say, the first Bugatti yacht has some exceedingly high expectations to meet.

“The design process at Bugatti is not a very rational or mathematical process,” Salome continues via email. “It is something that comes from the heart and cannot be illustrated on a chart or placed inside a mathematical formula. It is the result of a unique love for everything related to Bugatti and this makes it a very human element, one that cannot be easily explained in a traditional and rational business plan.”

But it is pretty easy to see how the new Niniette 66 was directly inspired by the Bugatti Chiron. And you don’t really need to be an expert to see how this stunning, never-seen-before yacht is going to rock the “yachting” world with the beast-like super car power that all Bugatti’s are known for.

Is Back To The Future Bringing The Future Back?

The first prototype of DeLorean appeared in October 1976, and production officially began in 1981 in Dunmurry, a suburb of south west Belfast, Northern Ireland (with the first DMC-12 rolling off the production line on January 21). The car features gull-wing doors and an innovative fiberglass chassis and underbody structure, along with a brushed stainless steel body.

DMC became famous for its appearance and was modified as a time machine in the Back to the Future film trilogy. A little more than 8,500 DMC-12s left DeLorean’s factory in Northern Ireland between 1981 and 1983, until its founder John DeLorean’s was arrested by the FBI on charges of drug trafficking.

Actually, it is quite impressing that Texas-based DeLorean Motor Company could soon initiate again its production thanks to a new law which exempts small volume car manufacturers from the safety requirements applied to the newly cars. On January 27, 2016, in Humble, Texas location, the car maker announced that production will resume and “new” DMC-12’s will be rolling off the assembly line in early 2017.

Furthermore, the car maker announced that they would be producing 300 DMC-12 models in late 2016.  Until now, the company’s primary task was just to repair and restore all the DeLorean vehicles that were being driven around the world.

But now, by taking advantage of the aforementioned law, DeLorean can use those parts in order to create a completely new 2017 model with a crate engine from an outside supplier.

Truth be told, the horsepower which can offer the original DeLorean isn’t so powerful, and that’s why buying the engine from a third-party supplier is very important.

The initial horsepower was about 130, while at this time the company examines a number of engine options, all between 300 and 400 horsepower. It’s also going to move to 17-inch or 18-inch wheels, because it’s impossible to receive high-performance tires on the 14- and 15-inch original rims. Pricing is expected to run between $80,000 and $100,000. It is also worth noting that replica cars still have to meet current Environmental Protection Agency standards for emissions, so the DMC-12’s old Peugeot-Renault-Volvo V6 has been already ruled out.

5000hp Devel Sixteen Engine Dyno Run. Holy Shitballs, Batman!!

So,  There’s this V16 supercar that apparently has 5,000 horsepower. I know, you’re thinking, “Yeah, right.”

That’s what the Dubai-based company behind the Devel Sixteen, claims. It looks as wild as pretty much any other crazy supercar out there, but it carries some significant stats.

devel 1

It has some until recently unknown V16 making 5,000 horsepower with a 0-60 time of 1.8 seconds and a top speed of 348 mph. Get all that? Buying any of it? Didn’t think so.

For the record, the Ariel Atom V8 does the sprint in 2.3 seconds, the fastest out there now. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport tops out at 267 mph and packs 1,200 horsepower. And it weighs as much as the earth, thanks to a W-16 and a four-wheel drive system.

devel 2

The skepticism continues when you try and find out more about the Devel Sixteen. Google thinks it’s a beach resort company.

Engine specs, 12.3 Litre V16 engine, 81 mm Quad Turbo, 32 Titanium Valves, Sixteen Cylinder One Billet Block, Devel Sixteen Cylinder Heads, One Billet Cam Shaft, One Crank Shaft, rated over 5000 Horsepower,

devel 3

The Devel Sixteen is reported to cost $1M (£620,000) and three clients are understood to have already placed orders. If the hypercar’s power figures were to be even half of those shown, then the Devel Sixteen would appear to be pretty good value for money. Until then, we’ll keep putting our weekly lotto ticket in…
